Modular Homes in Dongara with Thoughtfully Designed Floor Plans

MIRA Residential creates modular homes that fit seamlessly into Dongara’s coastal environment and relaxed Mid West lifestyle. Each home is thoughtfully designed to suit the needs of regional living while delivering modern comfort and style.

Every MIRA home is designed to comply with the National Construction Code (NCC), the WA Building Act and the relevant Shire of Irwin planning requirements. Where a site is identified as bushfire-prone, we ensure construction meets Australian Standard AS 3959 for bushfire-resistant design.

Choose from a range of floor plans, including compact one-bedroom designs like the Moda, ideal for downsizers or holiday homes, through to spacious family homes such as the Homestead. Every design can be tailored to suit your block, lifestyle and budget.

We focus on creating practical, durable homes for coastal living. Interiors are designed for comfort and functionality, while exteriors are built to withstand local conditions, including coastal winds and salty air. Our team works closely with you to ensure your home is both visually appealing and fully compliant with local planning requirements.

Benefits of Modular Construction in Dongara

Smart Building Solutions

MIRA’s modular homes are designed for Dongara’s coastal climate and relaxed Mid West lifestyle. Many of our builds are well suited to rural, coastal and difficult-to-access sites. As most construction takes place off-site, we minimise many of the delays and disruptions associated with traditional building methods, providing a practical and efficient solution for Dongara and Port Denison landowners.

Fast Build Times

By constructing your home’s modules in parallel with site preparation, we drastically reduce build times. In many cases, a modular home can be built in 12 weeks, depending on your design.

Sustainable Building

Our modular approach helps reduce waste during your build. Construction is carried out in controlled factory conditions; therefore, we minimise material spoilage, reduce unnecessary waste, and reduce resource use. That contributes to a more environmentally conscious build, which is especially relevant in Dongara’s climate and can support both comfort and energy efficiency.

Less Disruptive, More Convenient

Traditional home builds often involve extended site work, noise, dust and disruption. With modular construction, majority of the works is done off-site. The on-site phase is considerably shorter and cleaner, which means less disturbance to the block and neighbourhood, and you get into your new home sooner.

Uncompromised Quality

We design every home to comply with the relevant WA building standards and the Shire of Irwin's local planning requirements. Where needed, we can incorporate solutions to address local building challenges, including coastal exposure, bushfire-prone areas, and site-specific conditions.

Build to Last

Our homes are engineered to withstand Dongara's warm summers, coastal winds and seasonal weather conditions, with design considerations for insulation, ventilation and long-term durability. This helps keep your home comfortable throughout the year while ensuring it is built to perform for decades to come.

How we work

Milestones to a New Way of Living

Consultation and Discovery

Your journey starts with a sit-down and a chat. Whether we meet online or in person, we’ll take the time to learn about your lifestyle, budget, your land and what you want your future home to look and feel like.

Design

After we’ve fully understood those goals, have a look through our curated selection of house designs. From there, our team will work with you to tailor the layout, features and finishes so the final home suits the way you live and reflects your personal style.

Pre-Construction

Before any work begins, we’ll handle all required paperwork and preparations. This includes managing council requirements and guiding you through colour, material and finish selection. Every detail is planned to ensure the build progresses smoothly.

Construction

This is where the speed of modular building shines. Construction begins at our secure manufacturing facility in Perth, where your home is built with precision before being transported to Dongara. We complete the steel frame, external cladding, roofing, windows, doors and interior finishes, including cabinetry, tiling and fittings, in a controlled environment.

You’ll be invited to a pre-delivery inspection at our Henderson factory, giving you the opportunity to walk through your completed home before it arrives on site. Throughout the build, you can track progress through our Client Portal, with construction completed in as little as 12 weeks*, depending on the design.

Transportation and Installation

Once the modules are complete and we have walked you through the pre-handover inspection, we’ll coordinate transport and handle all logistics on your behalf. Our team then positions and secures each module on site using specialised equipment.

After installation, we complete the necessary on-site work, including plumbing, electrical connections, and other exterior elements, so your home is fully ready to move in.

Handover and Move In

Once your build is installed, it’s time for key handover. You’re all set to move in and make the house, your home.

FAQ

Modular homes are an excellent choice for anyone looking to enjoy Dongara’s relaxed coastal lifestyle, whether you’re building near the waterfront in Dongara or Port Denison, or on a larger rural property in the surrounding area. Our modular home designs can be customised to suit your location, lifestyle and budget.

Combining flexibility, comfort and style, our homes are designed to make the most of natural light, coastal breezes and the unique character of the Mid West coast.

Dongara’s coastal environment presents particular building challenges, including warm summers, coastal winds and exposure to salty air. Our modular homes are engineered to perform in these conditions while delivering lasting comfort and durability.

Every home is precision-built in a controlled factory environment, ensuring consistent quality, reduced waste and a finished product that meets the highest construction standards before arriving on site.

Site preparation, transport and installation costs can vary depending on your property’s size, location and accessibility. A site assessment with our team will provide a tailored estimate based on the specific requirements of your Dongara or Port Denison site.

This helps ensure all aspects of the project, from site works through to final installation, are considered upfront, giving you greater clarity and confidence when planning your build.

Yes, you will need approvals from the Shire of Irwin, including a building permit, to ensure your modular home complies with the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards. Planning approval may also be required, depending on your property’s zoning, location and the specific requirements of the Shire of Irwin’s Local Planning Scheme.

At MIRA, modular homes can be completed in as little as 12 weeks from the start of manufacturing, depending on the design, size and level of customisation.

While site preparation and approvals may influence the overall project timeline, off-site construction provides a faster and more predictable building process than traditional construction methods, helping you move into your new home sooner.

MIRA provides a complete turnkey solution, managing every stage of the project from manufacturing through to transport, crane installation and on-site assembly where required.

Our streamlined process is designed to minimise disruption and simplify the building journey, ensuring your home is delivered and installed efficiently while giving you confidence and peace of mind throughout the project.
